While an official announcement has now come in that the Salman Khan starrer DABANGG 2 would release in Christmas next year, producer and now also the director Arbaaz Khan promises that the sequel would take further leaps when it comes to story-telling and would be much bigger in treatment and presentation.

"One has to keep moving on. In case of DABANGG 2, we could have started it way earlier if we wanted but then we were in no rush. We wanted the written material to be well in place before taking any next step. Yes, we did lock the idea of the sequel quite some time back but wanted to get the entire script fleshed out well before bringing the film on floors. This time around we would be even bigger in terms of canvas. Also, the escapades of 'Chulbul Pandey' (character played by Salman Khan) would be encountering far tougher conflicts," says Arbaaz who was closely involved in the making of DABANGG as well.
While the first time director also promises to present the main villain Prakash Raj like never before, Arbaaz says that the rustic flavour of the franchise would still remain intact despite the story moving to a bigger town.
CHECK OUT: No apprehensions here; Salman's DABANGG 2 right on track
"It won't be an out and out urban story though; after all there are certain expectations from DABANGG franchise and hence I have to give audience that much required flavour which they associate the film with," confides Arbaaz, "In fact we aren't moving to a metropolitan city here; it is just going to be a bigger town belonging to North India. Beyond that allow me to reveal things as and when appropriate."
Well, we look forward to that as well Arbaaz.
