Move over saas-bahu sagas and the lengthy soaps that only dealt with women and their woes, here comes a show which will probably for the first time highlight men’s trauma, although in a humorous way. Yes the Satish Kaushik starrer ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’, a TV show which is an Indian adaptation of US TV series ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, will showcase mard ka dard!
Says Satish, “Though ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’ is an Indian adaptation of American series, the concept and content of the show is very much Indian and the Indian families will relate to it. Moreover, Indian audience will be delighted to come across something that we haven’t seen on TV. All this time we witnessed female protagonist going through some or other miseries on TV, for the first time they will see how a man is caught between the family and his wife. The kind of situation he gets into after marriage will be shown. Har Mard Ka Dard Jo Haina Pehli Baar Dekhne Ko Milega. They will realise that even man can get pissoed between family and wife. And that even men suffer.”
He further says, “It will break the stereotype of saas bahu stories and show the trauma of men, however all in fun. But sometimes it will touch the hearts with some good emotional messages too. And I am sure the show is going to do very well because it touches the chord of India men for the very first time. Har Mard Ka Dard will appeal to everyone and the show will be a hit.”

Ask Satishji if the Indian TV needed a much deserved break from the women agonies and that ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’ is coming at the right time and he says with a glee in his eyes, “Yes, I think from long time women have been dominating the space. The show will certainly deviate from the routine and we will see men being the protagonist. Having said that, the show will have its share of obnoxious saas traumatizing the bahu also. But that’s not the central part.”
Seems a great time is ahead for male brigade on TV! Sumit Sambhal Lega will premiere on August 31.
