For Tanushri Chattrji Bassu, debutant writer-director who is starting her Bollywood foray with PURANI JEANS, this was one situation which could well have turned into a nightmare. Reason being that one schedule into the film and her lead pair of Tanuj Virwani and Izabelle Leite, who were romantically paired in real life back then, broke-up. Many in the unit feared if the rest of the film's shoot would proceed peacefully, considering the fact that not just were her actors new to the world of films but were also expected to be emotionally disturbed due to their personal issues.

As it turned out though, there were two factors that worked in Tanushri's favor. First and foremost, Tanuj and Izabelle continued to be thorough professionals and hence didn't give any grief to those on the sets. Secondly, all their romantic portions had already been shot which spelled relief for Tanushri and her team.
'Yeah, there were no on-screen lovey-dovey encounters remaining to be shot between Tanuj and Izabelle. So in a way, their break-up didn't really create any issues for the filming of PURANI JEANS,' smiles Tanushri who made sure that a healthy environment persisted on the sets.

She further adds, 'I guess both of them also became much more serious about their work post their break-up. For me as a director, it worked as I would rather have my actors serious about their on-screen act than get serious about each other off the camera. Having said that, I am glad that both Tanuj and Izabelle gave their best for the film. Any false step and it would been very tough for all of us.'
Now one looks forward to the eventual outing on-screen once this Eros International film with music by Ram Sampath releases all over on 1st May.
