It seems the industry is very keen on Amitabh Bachchan being part of the much touted Sarabjit biopic!

Earlier when Subhash Ghai was to make the film, news did the rounds saying that megastar Amitabh Bachchan will play the role of a Pakistani lawyer in the biopic on slain Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh. But later on, not only the reports of Big B being part of the film were discarded; even Subhash Ghai left the project.

Now MARY KOM fame National award winning director Omung Kumar has taken the project in hand. And once again the buzz in the town is that Big B will essay the role of a Pakistani lawyer and share the screen space with bahurani Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

However, as we confirmed with Omung, he denied saying, “This is total rubbish. There is no truth to this news. I haven’t approached or thought of him. There are not even slightest of talks going on. I have been seeing this news from last 2-3 weeks and I don’t know how it has come.” But when we asked who he is considering to cast in the film, he said, “We will make the announcements soon. Right now we are still figuring out. So wait and watch.”

While the film will go on floors somewhere in November or December, Omung reveals that he will go for the recce in Punjab by next week.

Apart from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, actor Randeep Hooda, who will play Sarabjit Singh, has been finalized for the film. The biopic is slated to release in May 2016 as of now.
