Netflix just surprised ‘The Witcher’ fans with an early Christmas present.
The streaming service recently teased fans of the fantasy drama series with a tempting new sneak peek at the upcoming second installment as part of the show’s ongoing ‘Witchmas’ event, as per Cheatsheet.
Ahead of the second season of ‘The Witcher’, Netflix shared the first page of the script for season 2 as an early present for fans.
“Season 2. Page 1. Where will #TheWitcher take us this season? #Witchmas,” the streaming giant captioned the post.
According to the script shared above, the scene is set at night in a small mountain town and follows a merchantman named Colin Coppercloth, his wife, and his daughter seeking refuge in a small mountain town.
Through a voice-over, Geralt of Rivia (played by Henry Cavill) describes the scene, saying “You dogged my every footstep. But struck down others I passed on my way. Why?”
The merchant then walks towards an inn to inquire about a room for his family and gets no response. Instead, he hears a loud scream that scares him to death forcing him to return to his carriage only to find his wife missing and his daughter bathed in blood.
Attempting to flee, the merchant himself is then attacked by a mysterious monster.
“I was meant to end up alone, wasn’t I? So I would finally begin to be afraid?” concludes Geralt’s voiceover.
‘The Witcher’ Season 2 is currently under production, while the shows the ‘Man of Steel’ actor is recovering from a “minor leg muscle injury” which he sustained on set, reports DigitalSpy.
The new update comes just two months after Netflix released exclusive first look photos of Henry Cavill and Freya Allan’s characters on social media.
The eight-episode season 2 will see Henry Cavill reprising his role as Geralt of Rivia, alongside Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri.
‘The Witcher’ Season 2 is expected to release on Netflix in 2021.
