Hostages Season 2: Immediate reaction when the end credits roll

Sudhir Mishra’s Hostages Season 2 values season 1 and gets gritty by adding more human drama to this ironic cat and mouse drama that changes position and keeps you guessing.

The Story of Hostages Season 2

Continuing from the cliff-hanger situation from season 1, the series introduces some interesting new set of characters with their own reasons for getting involved in the murky situation surrounding CM Handa’s kidnapping. Ronit Bose Roy reprises his role of protagonist SP Prithvi Singh who is again in the eye of storm. The Hunter is now getting hunted but will the situation remain the same for all?

Hostages Season 2 review

In season 2 Sudhir Mishra is the series director while Sachin Mamta Krishan has helmed the episodes (12 in total).

It is pious in following the established format Sudhir Mishra is known for – complexities of characters, periodic undercurrents of Murphy Law, and no extraneous pieces.

The screenplay and dialogue by Nisarg Mehta nicely fits different things together like a puzzle with Ronit Roy as the puzzle’s key piece.

A perfect binge watch for the lovers of thrillers and drama, Hostages Season 2 is a smartly placed, twisty crime thriller series. Sachin Mamta Krishan directs it with the kind of verve that enables almost all the twists to hit us with some good force of surprises.

Hostages season 2 is further elevated by super strong central performance by Ronit Roy.

Good to see veteran Kanwaljit Singh while Divya Dutta is a welcome addition, Dino Morea springs a surprise, Shibani Dandekar is truly hot and adds a different twist. Shilpa Shukla has a flashy cameo. Amit Sial is competent. Shweta Bose is fantastic. And then there is Danish Husain (cannot reveal more and turn a spoiler).

Hostages Season 2: Final words

If the crime thriller drama genre is your poison and Hostages season 1 hooked you then season 2 is the dip you just cannot afford to skip.
