Aapkey Kamrey Mein Koi Rehta Hai review

It’s tricky to get quirky and when it goes wrong then ding dong… baby fails miserably to sing that song.

Imagine that popular Bachelor series getting spooked and then losing control.

Written and directed by Gaurav Sinha Aapkey Kamrey Mein Koi Rehta Hai is about four bachelor friends Nikhil (Sumeet Vyas), Subbu (Naveen Kasturia), Kavi (Amol Parashar) and Sanki (Ashish Verma) who are at a loss, looking for accommodation in a city like Mumbai. The four become ecstatic when they find a 4BHK at a throw away rent in the city, but they are in for a surprise. Mausam (Swara Bhaskar) comes to visit them for a housewarming party, and the life of these four kuwara turns into a hell.

An unfunny exorcise in boredom, Aapkey Kamrey Mein Koi Rehta Hai is a classic case of an idea which appeared just okay on paper gone horribly wrong. I repeat an idea that just seemed ‘okay on paper’.

So, it needs guts to explore such uninspiring ideas on screen without any understanding or insight of the genre it’s attempting to parody.

Resulting in Aapkey Kamrey Mein Koi Rehta Hai turning into a remarkably shapeless sloppy, rushed-out exercise.

Adding more chutney, aachar plus mirchi to the wounds, actors like Swara Bhasker, Sumeet Vyas, Naveen Kasturia, Amol Parashar, Ashish Verma and Ishtiyak Khan are seen just signing the muster.
