This week’s front runner (expectedly) turned out to be Luv Ranjan’s SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY, which opened to an impressive 25-30 percent start on an average, across most parts of India.The opening is all the more impressive given the dreaded morning shows and the examination period in many circuits, as the film is predominantly for the campus crowd. The film picked up noticeably during the latter shows. The first day appears to be in the 7-8 crore range, which is excellent.

The premier new release of the week, Neeraj Pandey’s Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayi starrer, AIYAARY, embarked on a fair start (around 20 percent) but did not see much of a turnaround during the latter shows.
