Fellow Thor co-star Tessa Thompson recently confirmed Bale’s upcoming part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during an interview on the red carpet for the Westworld Season 3 premiere.
The 36-year-old, who has played the role of heroic warrior Valkyrie in 'Thor: Ragnarok' (2017) and 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019), was coy about who exactly Christian would be playing.
"Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic," she teased.
She further said "I've read the script. I can't tell you much. Lots of exciting text messages exchanged between Natalie and I. We're going to have fun."
"Taika is writing (and) directing. Some familiar faces. Some new people coming into the mix."
It is still currently unclear which character Bale will take on, but it has been predicted that he will be playing Beta Ray Bill, a lesser-known Marvel hero.
Director Taika Waititi will be returning to write and direct the upcoming sequel along with Natalie Portman who is set to reprise her role as Jane Foster after being absent from previous films.
